![]() GOG is getting less and less games these days. If a whole lot of people buy, say, Cult of the Lamb, and it has a pretty ugly game breaking bug that isn't immediately fixed, that's your folks that hold the developer to a reasonable standard, and I'm basically on their side.īut if a couple of folks just tumble through the forum and their only rhetoric abilities are slander, random insults, fan shaming, victim blaming, whataboutism, boycott proposals, conspiracy theories, armchair psychology, self-fulfilling prophecies, assorted other misinformation plus the maintenance of diverse shit and hit lists, that's a problem that GOG needs to fix – particularly when the respective game isn't even released, when people write basically libellous reviews without ever having bought or played the game, or when personal attacks on the fanbase are being made. ![]() ![]() Of course, this thread also contains a visit by who I'd like to call "exhibit A" concerning forum toxicity. We've absolutely already debated the horrid toxicity of the Steam forums, we've talked about how GOG's policies help shitstorms and review bombing along, and we've also clearly evaluated how the monopoly can easily shrug off what the struggling contender can not. For a great and varied assessment on the unique situation on GOG, I urge you to read the answers in this thread in full. ![]() Lupineshadow: So if that is being negative It isn't. ![]()
